Welcome to Kalzb'gon

Pronounced "COWS-be-gahn", Kalzb'gon is not a specific place or thing; rather, it's a state of mind that comes from finally leaving the commitments of 20 years in agriculture as a cow/calf operation. Think "Cows Be Gone". The herd finally went down the road on a snowy January day in 2009. Click the photo for a little sentimental video...
Were we sailors, we'd christen a blue water catamaran "Kalzb'gon" and spend a few years sailing around the globe. Instead, we built an overland travel machine of the same name, an "expedition camper" of sorts, and traveled in it once to Canada before selling it. Our machine is pictured at the top of this page, between Banff and Jasper in August, 2009.
Building expedition campers was our side business from 2003 - 2009. After finally building one for ourselves, we quickly discovered that living on many square miles of private property sets the bar pretty high for being impressed with "remote travel". Campgrounds are crowded, and you'll find other humans in National and Provincial Parks too! For privacy and some peace and quiet, we'll stay home.
We do still travel, stay up to date and communicate with us through our our TravelBlog.
